XII. Documentaries.
What is this thing we call Documentaries?
In general, It is a a movie or television OR programme that provides factual record or report. A different way of defining Documentaries said by Sheila Curran Bernard who is an Author of Documentary Storytelling is that it brings viewers into new worlds and experiences through the presentation of factual information about real people, places, and events generally -- but not always -- portrayed through the use of actual images and artifacts. Factuality alone does not define documentary films; it's what the filmmaker does with the facts.
Documentaries tend to last as long as 2 hours or even 30 minutes at a minimum but considering how much time has changed, documentaries nowadays last about 10 minutes per clip.
An obvious difference between films and documentaries are that films are not entirely about factual information. Films tend to be about fictional stories or they do not cover much information on a non-fictional story. Documentaries are meant for informing the viewers about certain issues or an important time of history. As for films, they are meant for entertaining viewers.
A few notable documentaries that i can mention that i like are Buzzfeed's 'Buzzfeed Unsolved: True Crime' and 'Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural'. These two mini-documentaries cover various cases of supernatural acts of criminal cases that were never solved or 'case closed'. The two hosts that host these shows go in depth about the cases and then adventure into the cases' locations first hand.

Another notable documentary i can recall and really favored is Michael Jackson's This is It. As majority of the world knows, Michael Jackson is the King of Pop. Prior to his passing, Kenny Ortega directed the film as a tribute to the King of Pop. The film consisted of the preparations and rehearsals of the supposedly concert that was supposed to be held but however, was cancelled due to his death. This documentary was definitely meaningful and impactful as Michael Jackson made a huge impact to not only myself but also to his biggest fans out there.
